What if /ic/ had an additional verification where you're forced to submit a drawing with the post?

It will quickly oust the shitposters, even if they try to hide behind "l-lel look how little I'm trying xdd" doodles.

how long can you draw a day before you get diminishing returns on gains?

I heard sleep is where the brain internalizes everything you've learned. Would the most effective regiment be 4 hour work sessions followed by 2 hour nap cycles?

It's funny sometimes but we definitely don't need threads that exist just to bitch about people more popular than OP.

When you can draw 10/10 nude human figures but everything else looks like shit because you've never studied anything outside of construction, human anatomy, and life drawing.

what's the point of learning from life drawing or "imagination" when you can just trace? technology has changed art, no one cares about shitty charcoal drawings or imitations of old masters.

>>copy other drawings and not real life
The advice about copying drawings was a separate advice, unrelated to life drawing which I also mentioned in my post in these parts.

> There is absolutely nothing stopping an artist from drawing anime and doing figure drawing.
>while you ALSO do studies and figure drawing etc.

Reading comprehension.

Draw from life to learn how life works, how lighting and form works. Draw from life to learn observing and proportions. etc.

Draw from other drawings to learn appeal and design. To learn gesture and flow. To learn cartooning. To learn the tricks that other artists use. etc.

No matter how much you study other artists, you will eventually land at your own sense of aesthetic. People are not copy machines. Trying to "maintain" your artistic integrity by not copying other artists is one of the biggest mistakes you can make when you're learning, there's so much knowledge to be found in other peoples work.

> just copy life and be your own artist
I'd agree with you if we weren't in an anime/cartooning thread right now, talking about a guy who wants to draw with a specific aesthetic in mind.
>pic related, it's what happens when you only do life drawing and then try to move to stylization and imagination drawing
