I'm surprised to see this much support for Meru, but unfortunately, the only exceptions for streak renewals are as follows:

Otherwise, I'd have to reinstate a lot of streaks, and Lava didn't forgive anyone who drew and simply forgot to post.
I have meditated on how to make streak loss feel less catastrophic, bouncing between ideas like your new streak starts off at half your record streak or something, or high-streak elimination forgiveness (like tokens every 100 days but you have to make up the work missing) but I dunno.

I've also thought over whether or not I should actually do tokens. I don't think it would be fair to the high-broken streak people, as the leading individuals would have enough DADCoin to buy a lot of tokens.
Instead, I've mulled over the idea of purchasing a "penalized vacation", which means you're permitted to take a short (one day to a week) break, at the cost of 25% of your current streak. Or something, I dunno.
Bottom line is, I'm really frustrated at myself for not producing both necessary and interesting things for the site, and I'm really sorry about that. It'll be hard for me to do catch up during the productivity challenge, but I'll be dropping my art focus a bit to work on the site more aggressively after it ends.

I feel so mortified right now. I thought pro artists had their elbows straight and I struggled so hard for years to do so little because of this stupid superstition of mine.

I am feeling very tired and moderately stupid right now.

I'm a shit artist. Barely one level above an absolute fucking beginner. But that's neither here nor there.

I know about the concepts I have to learn. I also know that the best way to go about learning them is applying and thinking about these concepts while drawing from life.

But here's where I have problems starting. Drawing from life is pretty restrictive. I live a 9 to 5 day, so sources for things to draw directly from life are pretty limited. On top of that: I heard that drawing directly from photograph may be detrimental to learning. I'd love to get started and just to keep going, but I find myself restricted by having something to fucking draw. Even the gesture websites start getting repetitive, and I've seen each picture almost twice.

How do you jump in and practice, without wasting so much time digging for source material? Work eats up a lot of time, so I want to spend as little time as possible to prepare to draw.
