I had some free time so i started painting a bit of the face

Yes, you are right. This is my second attempt at digital painting, but i've realized that i almost know nothing about the fundamentals (Shadow, color, composition, etc.) since when i used to draw a couple of years ago i mostly did portraits of people/animals. Shadows/light source is something i struggle with, any tutorial to recommend me?

Yes, that was a fast sketch. I don't want it to look cartoony. I will follow your advice and check some tutorials on how to collor metal

Yes, i didn't like it neither, i think i will just copy the color palette of some HR giger painting
