I like how I can draw with the side of the pencil when I use the apple pencil. I don't think that's possible with other digital pens yet, but maybe I'm wrong.

It lets me draw like this

Is learning how to draw this way really important? I get that the movement should come from the shoulder but I just can't get the hang of it. Should I just keep going or is it alright to just hold the pencil normally? Will it affect my gains?

that Anon you quoted is very loose and is probably using a close grip at the end of the pencil, using his elbow and shoulder a lot to feel the form out
your lines are much more tight and controlled

try this sort of grip

paypal invoice or goods and services option. ask your commissioner for their PayPal email, or you can send them a link to the invoice (it's in the drop down menu for the send option).

In some programs like photoshop, you can take an average (3x3 or 5x5) with the eyedropper, but honestly, you just have to get used to approximating colors and recognizing tones and values. It also helps if you have a properly calibrated screen.

Patreon is fine as long as you hide it by having it be "patrons only", unless you draw vore. Violence-based sexual content is not allowed. Keep your main page sfw and you shouldn't have any issue.

Try holding it parallel to the paper, with the tip of the pencil at or past your fingertips (pic related). You'd just be rotating the pencil and your hand. use your shoulder and elbow to draw (this takes practice), and try to draw on an upright surface or flat with a wide breadth around you. That should help to minimize cramping.
God help you if you fist your pencil like a baby though.

I took drawing seriously 3 years ago and for 2 years I've been drawing using a pencil using the overhand grip, and I've gotten used to drawing with my shoulder. A year ago I shifted to using a wacom tablet and I couldn't do the overhand grip anymore.

As of now, I just finished doing lineart on photoshop and I've taken a break by listening to a podcast while sketching. Right now I've noticed a massive change the way I draw on paper, I'm more fluid and my sketches on paper are waaaay better than on a digital medium. How the hell can I transfer my drawing skills on paper into digital? any ideas?

Is it really necessary to sharpen the pencil this way?
I use a common pencil sharpener, but is it necessary to sharpen the pencil this way in order to add values effectively? I'm currently studying how values work and how to render things, so I wanted to know this.
