What is the best way to study Hampton? Do I read/copy his drawings, or do I read then apply what I've learned to studies of actual figures?

I'm halfway into the book and I feel like my figures are still lacking (I am drawing figures from real-life reference every day)... Picrel was made like a month ago. Yes, I know the arm is off.

I am probably going to try to supplement Hampton with Vilppu/Loomis/Bridgeman-- I want to take my figures to the next level!

I love the colors/expression on the rat king-- the palette makes me feel like I'm in a fancy cheese shop!!! So many details in the pic just bring it all together!
