in my experience, boxes suck for bodies in perspective. I always found balls, beans, and ellipses to be much better. Sycra has that coil technique

But the thing that has taught me the most about figures in perspective is actually drawing figures in perspective. Joe Kubert recommended people learn foreshortening by drawing reclining figures at life drawing sessions. today, we can just get photos of olympic gymnasts or whatever.
