I start by sketching a pose because I usually have no idea what I want to do. Once I have an idea and a pose that I am happy with then I draw a second revision on top of it and add more detail; may repeat this process until I am satisfied with the drawing, after that it's just coloring/shading which I keep simple because it's tedious; last step is just to add filters until it looks cool. I don't use anything other than hard brush because I don't like blurry lines. I made this image to illustrate a bit how it goes
