honestly a circle is such a shit way to start heads. you have to see a few steps ahead and work backwards to size and place the thing, and then do so much irregular manipulation that there was no point starting with it to begin with.
better to go directly to something that's about the size and shape of the entire head so you can see where you're going right away.
