I'm going to be going to community college in the next month or so and I'm curious, is a Fine Arts degree worthless?

I've heard as much, people are looking at portfolios and such, but at the same time, I don't want my parents to think I'm just dicking around for no reason when they're going to be paying for my classes.

I ask because I'm going to be taking an English and Art history class as a requirement when In reality I would rather maybe take a painting class.

My schedule Currently is
1.) Figure Drawing: Beginning
2.) Hist of Art: Renais/Baroq/Mod
3.) Reading and Composition: Beg.
4.) Digital 3D Modeling/Animation

So basically I want to ditch these required courses in favor of a painting class and maybe something else more hands on.

I really just want some opinions on this plan I guess.

>i dont like it when good artists draw neckbeard shit.

You mean you don't like when artists draw things you don't like? Wow, that's deep.
