seriously makes me sad looking through his last few consistent deviantart months / early tumblr, he was killing it, insanely original and unique work, i feel like even the technically good stuff that he does these days is just lacking the soul he was putting into his work at his peak, i miss the miyazaki / möbius spin he would put on things. his new stuff sure is original, but it's more towards a more technically competent 'steven universe' set in a kinda boring world.

there's a lot of zedig copycats floating around, these days, none of them ever quite capture the scope of what he was achieving at his peak, but some seem to be getting close. (though it is cringe to see how much some of those artists rip directly from him alone)
