Nice to see others see what it really is too. Some years ago I decided to upgrade my tablet and holy fucking shit, in less than a week of very casual drawing the nib had eroded to a sharp plastic prison shank like in the picture and the tablet surface was scratched to hell and back. The worst part is they've brought this bullshit on Cintiqs too, starving artist spending them savings on what's supposed to be a quality product and forced to use their ration pasta as a nib, fucking unbelievable.

Whatever, I'll keep using my Intuos 3 wide edition as long as it works. Still on the first nib after 12 years and they're full size nibs the tablet has scratches of course but they're barely visible. It's like Gillette all over again.
