according to book drawingOnRightSideOfTheBrain there are ~4 styles of lines and they are all equal in terms of drawing. The other two books i read didnt even consider important to mention the styles of lines. Use whatever you want. Many pros use chicken scratch for sketching and some even use it for crosshatching or leave it visible even in final painting
