kinda did that to this one. I was going back to the what I did in year one for awhile where I would go until I got bored or frustrated, then fucking BLACKED it with big stupid contour lines and stuff.

Didn't do it for the BLACKED reaction face watercolor though.

He went through a whole weeb phase for awhile. That was kind of a bigger deal because it was one of the first times that oriental art was able to be cheaply imported and stuff.

Picasso being into jap shit would be more common since it was later and he had a long career and stufts. And he wasn't really much of a 4chan demographic type of feller was he?

I don't sabotage them on the critique board. I sabotage them on the table. Like pict related is one where I had already been ruminating about the concept of "an afterbirth of better efforts" as I was looking back at how I'm naturally inclined towards production. Like I'll spend all day working on one thing, and then when I start getting frustrated or too disassociated or whatever, I'll switch to a different canvas and kind of take abuse it so I don't fuck up the thing I actually cared about. So with pict related I had a retarded amount of black paint after doing another pass on Me Who? I had this half done daisy ridley painting, which is like the 4th daisy ridley painting that was done as a fuck you throwaway, so I just used all the dang black paint making it look weird and trying to write japanese symbols for trash and poop and stuff.

Yeah I'd say colored pencils is probably the best gateway to getting wet. Or pastels.

Oh yeah I understood that you essentially never want to use black paint before I did for the first painting in the race. A big part of the process for the 1. Sadfleck painting was that I tried my darnedest to do things "right", but then I got to a point where the eyes looked retarded, so out of frustration I blackened them to try and find the eye shape again, and I just kind of liked it how it was. Then I spent like 19 paintings chasing that "theory" of trying your darnedest until you "black out." All of them made it to a certain point before cancerous black started being forced into the mix.

eh I don't feel like getting into it meow. It's like "so it goes" in Slaughterhouse Five. kind of like a mantra that explains and justifies frustration and dissatisfaction about how your life is turning out versus how you once imaged it would turn out. There is the ideal self, and the difference between that and the real self, is entropy.
