Are you 14? Having a girlfriend doesn't mean your social life is satisfying. I don't hang around with my GF 24/7. That would be an extremely unhealthy relationship and I wouldn't want that. Nobody should. I also said that I have lots of friends but I was talking about knowing other artists in particular.

>I'm sick and tired of girls with boyfriends pretending they don't have any social life.

The fuck is wrong with you? You think that when you get a GF and you just sit around stroking her hair 24/7 for 10 years? You just hold hands and walk in the park every day and that's it? Life is not a fucking comic strip. Being in a relationship and not having a fulfilling social life sounds like a completely legit problem a girl might also have.

It's actually a huge problem for a lot of my friends who are getting older. You don't see your friends as often as you used to because of work/family/whatever and the social structures you've built in your youth start deteriorating. You'll see when you finally start getting your big boy hair on your pee-pee.

I'd say that the biggest help from years of drawing is how this shit translates into sculpting. I could do relatively decent stuff right off the bat when I first picked up ZBrush because I knew some anatomy and other shit.

The biggest help that learning 3D offers to a painter is understanding and having control over stuff like AO, SSS, camera settings, lighting etc. where handwork is taken out of the equation completely and you can just observe how different things affects your object in a render.

Unfortunately /ic/ often seems to be super hyperbolic on these subjects as well. Meh.

I think that's fucking stupid. Sculpture is an art form that's at least as old as painting. I'd agree with you if someone came here with a chart of his hard core shaders or how well they've rigged their character on their "game-ready model" or some shit like that but digital sculpting is basically just as "fake" as digital painting.

The funny thing is that a lot of people here use 3D stuff as a base for their art but they just don't talk about it. I think it's fine. Everything's fine. You're fine. FIne.

Flip your fucking images man and learn to type (I'm not a native speaker either but sheesh).

Anyways you're probably young enough to learn all this shit but you definitely need to be smart about it. What kind of career do you want to pursue in art? Seems like you're confident about this guy you drew in 20... Minutes? Hours? Anyways, it's not very good.

I appreciate your enthusiasm but you're at the level of most 13-19yo. kids who just like drawing. Be aware of that and have a plan for what you want to do.

Picked this up from the last thread:

>Bet you're the guy who was doing the animal->girl transformation image a couple of weeks ago(?).

>different anon

I don't know. He seems to be kind of secretive or shy about his stuff if he's going to lie about that shit. Weird.

Anybody else got one of these emails? Sounds suspicious as fuck. They want people to do 3 "trial cards". They don't seem to have a website or anything. I've had some assholes asking for free fan art for some bullshit projects before but this one's amazing! Tree pieces of free work? Sure!

Here's the email:

"We, the Paul Brothers, are a young and upcoming company engaged in the development of a new Trading Card Game (playable by cards as well as online). Therefore, we are currently in the process of hiring illustrators / graphic designers to draft correspondent cards.
In general, the designs we would appreciate shall cover themes of fantasy; particularly fantastic creatures (various different animal and human races). Our attention was led to you via the platform “ArtStation” where we were impressed by your art work.
As we intend to work with several artists, we expect (and encourage) that each artist may decide on a preferred main theme to illustrate. We will provide you with descriptions or examples of how we envisage those creatures. There will be nine different races to choose from.
In view of the above-said, we presently imagine the work allocation as follows: We provide every artist who would be interested in a work assignment with a concept on which to base the illustration; e. g. "a water race with the power to control water”. We might also ask for the illustration to include specific characteristics, such as certain physical features, performance of a concrete action or a unique body position.
In any case, we need the illustrations to be colored. We do not have any particular technique in mind yet regarding the implementation of the illustrations, leaving you with a maximum of independence on design and appearance. However, our preferred style would be dark urban fantasy (as realistic as possible) – age restriction 14 years old."
