You can basically compare this slippery slope of art with lets say something like 4chan

>People had a high standard of posting
>Some retards could not keep up so they started to use things that are ironic in nature
>The ironic nature made Poe's law a reality and people believed the irony to be fact
>now the current state is that it's so far into satire that the new generation see's it as reality and know no other way to portray

When applied to art it follows the same path
People made ironic art to shit on the people with real skills, that ironic art became reality and now people have their heads so far up their asses that a fucking can of soup is the thing to define a century of new art

The only deeper meaning in modern art is the one that you make up to lie to yourself that the thing you're looking at has some sort of eccentric value since the actual reality that millions of people are looking at a can of soup is so fucking mindblowing that your mind simply can't comprehend the absurdity of the situation
