I absolutely love drawing but i spend all my time trying to make up chores to distract myself from it because I'm afraid it'll come out bad.

Have yet to read everyone's greentexts, but I've been fucking around in my university's "media arts" department purely because I'm out of classes to take. All I have are stories about professors being god-awful, and courses being huge wastes of money.

>be corporate communication major (literally corporate training + PR + product shilling)
>do art as a hobby
>need "artistic inquiry" credit
>find Intro to the Game Industry class
>description implies that it's a lecture-based digital media/product marketing class
>good, I don't have to pay for me to do more hobby stuff
>listed as Computer Science in the course catalog
>somehow doesn't raise any red flags, I just sign up anyway
>first day
>professor is 30 minutes late to a 1hr 15min mid-morning course
>wew
>first "lecture" is watching examples of game/cinematic animation and VFX
>multiple weeks later
>not a single formal lecture
>only very basic demonstrations of random shit you can do in Maya/Max
>professor is late to almost every class, some classes were completely canceled
>first assignment is to model and texture different "containers" in 3ds Max
>1 wood barrel, 1 metal barrel, 1 wood crate, 1 metal crate and 1 container of our choosing
>kek ok
>do the assignment, we present what we have
>it's a mess for about 3/4 of the class
>me and some film student had the best projects because we knew how to use the arcane, secret magic known as stock photos
>professor doesn't give a single shit about good or bad assignments
>multiple weeks after that
>no assignments
>bunch of late classes/cancellations
>played some shitty LAN capture-the-flag game DURING CLASS
>somehow the class is still running
>"final" project is to make a game environment however we want and have it playable in Unity
>wat
>make some meh-tier assets for a military outpost, use some stock stuff the school had access to, and turn it in
>90% of the class is still in on finals day working on it
>professor doesn't care
>got an A grade 2 months late
>????
