There's a ton of indie, self-contained western comic books that cover a variety of stories and subjects, its not all regurgitated, byzantine capeshit!

the problem is that they're almost all unsightly to look at and are written by self-centered, smug assholes. there's a reason why indie comics have that nasty, distinct hipster stink or "tumblr incarnate vibe" stereotype to them while doujins and web-published manga and even webtoons don't

I understand fully why some weebs say "ugly westoid art" so often when popular americans comics that aren't capeshit look like this

And why does it repulses the fuck out of me?
