I've been gone a long while as well. I'd post in these threads for a laugh as "Giovanni Giano" (check the archive if you care to) in the past.

You're right though, the pattern is the same:

-People argue about drawing hardware (despite the long established scientific fact that an Intuos L or third-party equivalent is the best option for both their drawing accuracy and their physical health)
-Not a single soul draws

I would regularly post artwork in these threads, alone, for months. You will very seldom see anyone post work in this thread or any of them like it. That's not what they're about and it's not a subject that will often come up, even. They're inhabited by very dedicated people championing one product or another for some reason or another, I think most often to reassure themselves that they made the right decision.

However, the fact a Wikipedia article was altered so drastically (informative product specifications tables or bullet points etc. were present on Wacom's wikipedia sites as far back as 2012: https://web.archive.org/web/20120301180240/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wacom)) and so shortly after I posted a table from it on here a couple years ago makes me wonder if there are other motivations.

This page from July of 2021 is the last time you see a product feature table on the wikipedia entry: https://web.archive.org/web/20210710235049/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wacom

-and came just a handful of weeks after I'd used it as a prop to explain my position on the subject of new vs old tablets in this very thread

>Anyways, changed my Wacom Intous S (2018) for the cheapest display tablet

The only reason such small tablets even exist in this day and age with 24+ inch computer monitors is to make you feel like you need a screen, and they're much more effective for that than they are for drawing with-especially for a beginner.
