Tried to keep your style intact, Look at how simple superposition gives depth. The reason youre not doing this is because youre symbol drawing a bit. As in, you don't know that this is based on reality, and even if you choose to make some parts to disappear ( like the brow ridge blocking the eyebrows, mass in front of the extending eyes) you still need to demonstrate they are there by affecting the symbols you kept.
