Looking back I can never recall that supposed time where I was a juvenile sparkster jamming out pen and paper in hand.

In fact I can't ever recall a time when art was a first choice go to for entertainment. We were broke and so I never got a game boy color and simply had to settle for drawing pictures of Blastoise out of the toys r us magazine page that came with the newspaper.

In school I drew because I didn't like talking to people because my clothes were lesser than most and I hated going to school because it made me feel poor.

In the after school program was were we all mingled, those whose parents both worked. It became stand routine to tolerate the normal middle class schoolchildren who I pandered to with my art skills for their approval and perhaps a steal of some minutes playing their game boys. It was in the after school programs where I interacted with the ghetto lot whose enjoyment for delinquency also alienated me. Once again nothing to do but post up at an empty round white lunch table and draw with head resting on said table.

I guess my point is, and I have nothing but the best for the Wacom Bros, but buying an expensive tablet is buying literally the last thing that will manifest in a creative experience.

The people who sold you on the "drawing is supposed to be fun and mentally engaging" are wrong.
Art is born out of boredom and neccesity, stop downloading e books and mass consuming digital media for a second.

I don't know why I wrote this, in the end this feels like a plea from my inner child to my present self.

Thanks for reading.
