I need advice for pencils. the hardest pencil I have is 2H and it is a bit too dark, I just got a set of pencils that were for sketching.
Should I get harder pencils or just try not to press as hard?

This was my first still life and I decided it would be a good idea to just draw what I had infront of me.
That picture started with an eraser next to the sharpener, now it doesn't have it anymore because I needed it, I felt pretty stupid about it afterwards.

Has anyone else ever made that mistake?
