Same here. I'm currently trying to force myself to color thing as much as possible. So far watching ctrl paint and doing photo studies, even studies of other artists all seem to be helping a lot. It seems like it does take really practicing it to get full understanding of the lessons, though.
Try it out though, I seriously was starting to think I was color illiterate or something too but gradually I feel I'm getting the hang of it. Something else I'm gonna try is just using color reference. I'm hoping I'll be able to absorb some of how color works that way too, just like using ref to draw figures or whatever, you just try to analyze and internalize as you go along.

I guess that would give me the best chances of not landing completely flat on my ass if I don't get hired again, so looks like that's pretty much the way to go. Nobody said it outright but I guess this means you guys don't think it's delusional for me to even try to get hired somewhere. Maybe Marvel was still a stretch though but I've been learning to live with the idea of not achieving that goal, because other options are just as valid and honestly, like that one anon pointed out, might actually be more fulfilling. I'm still scared shitless but I'm gonna try at least, so thanks for the encouragement guys.

I always just wanted to be good enough to get a job at Marvel. Whenever I start thinking of where I want to take my art nowadays though, it just seems fucking impossible, so I've pretty much just resigned myself to keep producing stuff and challenging myself, and studying things I think I'm weak on and go from there.
