I actually have improve quite a bit. You're either demonstrated that you're either disingenuous or you have no actual frame of reference with portrait painting.

A: I'm painting what I want to do.
B: You learn a lot about the mechanics of the face by painting people making weird faces. It's great practice imo to work on people cringing or frowning or furrowing or whatever.
C: When you paint goofy shit you typically invite less uppity criticism from people that understand art criticism. It's like making a comedy versus making a shakespeare drama.
D: By doing what I want, and by using intentionally "wrong" techniques with a shitty medium on shitty canvas and by "cheating" and being lazy with stuff I don't care about, and layering colors and scratching away I am creating a novel aesthetic that nobody else cares about doing as well as a sense of continuity and development in the series.

that's always such a meaningless thing to say. I'm posting hundreds of al dente paintings in the attempt to solicit actual critique and guidance on how specifically to improve them. Saying "study some fundamentals" on /ic/ is the equivalent of saying "I don't really know much about art production or art criticism or 'the fundamentals' but I want to sound like I do."

Can you highlight a specific painting that you think is violating "the fundamentals" of acrylic portraiture and help walk me through how I could apply "the fundamentals" to improving it next time I work on it?

Like it's absolutely baffling to me how much you kids are just conditioned to think that "critique" is demanding people stop doing what they're doing. That's zero-sum faggot shit for unproductive losers. It's destructive. Means nothing to me and says a lot about who you are. Try thinking constructively. It's much better for your psychology.
