Stop being afraid and use the colours you see, not the colours you'd think. Use the reds, blow out that white.
Don't get distracted by details like the serratus and just draw them in like that.

Check your torso and abdominal construction first though, they're faulty.
Anyway, I don't think this is the best object of study for studying values with contrast. Since a big part of the figure is obfuscated and values are rather blown out. And the image is obviously edited.
Also, when focusing on practicing contrast, focusing on getting your values right. It's often best to just go grayscale and not get confused by colour.
