Anon the head is straight from the book. Are you retarded? The "megamind head" is Hogarth's style. Way to out yourself as a non-Hogarth reader.
I already know how to draw heads, I'm just learning Hogarth's way to expand my style.
You sure like to seethe a lot anon.

Drawing with observation is easy, I'm already good at that. I want to learn construction now. You need to be able to construct from nothing if you want to make it.
If I was just some commission fag then drawing fro observation + rendering would be enough I guess. But my aim is to become a mangaka so I have different needs unlike observoids.

That is Loomis though (Huston)? I've finished Loomis years ago. That was my Huston study. Didn't bother mastering shading because smudging looks better than crosshatching (imo) and my goal was to understand the construction of the face, in order to apply it to anime faces. Didn't help in the slightest. However as you can see my placement is 99% accurate here, that's when I decided to move on.

It is. It's good "enough". My proportions are spot on and all that's left is rendering which can be fixed on digital. My placement is always 99% accurate and I'm not trying to become a xerox machine. Watch the video. It literally tells you that "improving observation" (i.e. what KtD teaches) is a begtrap mindset that will never get you to the next level. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdNeOF18zdg
I felt this first hand, drawing from reference the past few weeks put me in a comfort zone knowing that I could make money with commissions at this level (provided I have digital). But I want to go beyond that, so yeah.

Holy shit. I just overlayed it and the proportions were a perfect bullseye. I got it right on my first shot. I'm so happy.
I'm thinking of moving forward in the Huston course from frontal faces to tilted faces now, but what could I have done to make it more like the ref? I might give it one more go.
