I'm guessing you've never heard of Sargent then. Or perhaps all those beautiful brush strokes and the masterful technique was completely lost on you because it wasn't telling a story or answering all your silly checklist of vapid narrative inquiries?

Pic related is no doubt my greatest masterpiece of this lifetime, and I dedicate it solely to you. Look at me, I'm an illustrator now.
