Take a look at the thigh on your drawing - you used two lines to define the shape of the form, one from the left, one from the right.
That's a mistake.
With gesture, you're drawing the energy, the movement, not the forms. That's the whole difference between gesture and structure Steve Huston mentions so often.

See pic related, the distinction between the two stages of my drawing are clearly separated.
I also see you're having trouble drawing long, confident lines. You embarked on an adventure without a sword. Sure, forging a sword doesn't sound like a lot of fun, but it will come in handy when you get ambushed by a mountain troll. Better keep your tools sharp.
