Don't you guys think it's a bad idea to have all beginners in one area only? This place is like drawing purgatory where you're surrounded by people of the same level, making the same errors, with no examples on how to improve. Wouldn't it be better if you guys find forums with a variety of skill levels, where you're not divided by separate threads and can see everyone's work? Then you'll be exposed to better art constantly and be motivated to imitate them. That's how you pull yourself up and improve.

Following Loomis and all these teaching resources is great but they only get you so far and are unlikely to represent the kind of drawing style you want to achieve. They don't connect with you and show you the process in the same way that someone a few levels above you does when they post their work. Seriously consider finding better places or don't let this thread contain you and go post in the other threads. Break out of the /beg/ containment and go to where the better artists are so you can see their work all the time and learn from them. You're also more likely to benefit from critiques there. If you're afraid of posting there, then that should motivate you to always put effort in everything you post.
