I don't remember the last time i did gesture drawing, but this took me more than 30 mins and alot of time has been used to erase.

I think i get the hint that gesture drawing is usually done with a single pencil without construction lines. But would it be wrong if you were to do gestures with light construction lines, later to add in bold strokes?
