For you make in a year you basically had to be bordering on pro tier to begin with. And why are people in a mad rush to catch up to being with? There's no shortage of clout to go around if you're good enough, and people always flock to stories about people going from zero to hero in spite of their age and responsibilities all the time. I see it like this, because it IS easier than traditional, the bar is set much higher on digital. With Trad, you can get away with things that will make digital look amateurish or simply won’t work.

Impressionism, for example, just doesn’t work as well on digital like it does with oil.

Polishing a turd is to add excessive details to a drawing with shitty fundamentals: anatomy and perspective namely. Trying to draw a basic figure in a basic pose and failing miserably isn't even polishing a turd. It's the act of failing to construct a turd to begin with

It's really demoralizing that there's nothing in keys to drawing so far about what to do if your mountain of proportion errors builds up to the point that you can no longer look to the reference for advice on what you're drawing. It's happened to me for every single exercise so far besides the bottle.

Beginner here
I want to make a 'blog' so I can build a habit of drawing/posting regularly. What communities do you guys recommend that are open to giving artists/posters advice on how they can improve? Is using forums like Crimson Daggers or Conceptart the only way? I had an account there once but I felt really intimidated and worried that I was polluting their forums with my shitty art so I deleted my account a few months later. Should I try going back?
