Do your friends and family know you post on this website? if people in public knew you posted here, would that be a point of pride or embarrassment for you?:

Just a reminder to everyone that basic shapes are all that matter, in terms of quality manga art. The inking, the hatching, the lighting, the designs, the finishings, and even the composition, are just icing on the cake. If you're struggling with a page, the most likely reason is that your basic shapes are off. I recently went back to manga that I drew a year ago and went over it with broad, basic shapes, and I made it 1000% better, simply because my basic shapes were simply better. I remember struggling so much, at that time, to make my pages better by trying out different styles of hatching, different amounts of black shapes, how and where to use screentones, etc. doing and redoing my pages over and over again, spending several days just trying out screen tones in different places, etc. but all of that didn't matter in the end, because the basic shapes were shit.

Work on your fundies, guys.
