Learning both is good, but which one do YOU prefer to use in your drawings?

Also try the Reilly method to really learn how to "lock in" the features and mapping the whole face in better detail

I wouldn't recommend drawing from a video game like that for practice. Best way is to draw a person IRL, friend or family member will usually be willing. Second best is arguably either a very good photo or a master portrait. Proportions, rhythm lines and placement will be the most important, followed by the large forms in perspective, followed by more specific planes (which I personally need to work on more), followed by separation of light and dark, then halftones and planes and all that shit.

There's also general ideal proportion tricks that work 99% of the time (keeping in mind perspective so it works for any angle)- hairline to brow, to bottom of nose, to chin are all 1/3 vertically apart. Top of ear lines up with the brow horizontally. Bottom of ear lines up with the bottom of the nose horizontally. Ends of mouth connect to the center of the eyes vertically. End of nostrils connect to the tearducts of the eye vertically.

Good resources for heads-

Getting a decent plastic skull will help

Try implementing these rhythms into the heads you draw. And please use reference when learning the head.

Also study skulls and make sure you know basic perspective.

Construction + Rhythms + Skull knowledge + Perspective = Decent head
