/ic/ - Artwork/Critique

The past 50 years have seen economic improvement the likes of which are a human miracle. Countries are getting richer than ever and as a result there are more artists than we know what to do with. With all these artists, most of them are going to be trash. I believe contemporary art currently follows Sturgeon's Law, ~90% of everything is crap. In time it will be the greats who are remembered and the mediocre will be forgotten. Just like how you remember the great painters of the past but you won't remember the unexceptional and bad. History is looked back on with rose-tinted glasses, because time separates the wheat from the chaff.

For quite some time now I don't know what I want to draw, I don't even want to draw that much. It seems to me that I lost somewhere this meaning behind why I wanted to draw in the first place, I can't even tell what I like anymore when it comes to art. I am burned out?
