Brian, you are getting better, it is noticeable. I can clue you in on why you are taking so long to get truly GUD, that's the good news, the bad news is that you might ignore the answer like you tend to do.

The thing that always pissed me off about you is that you have the potential and the work ethic to be a monster, you are prolific as fuck, but, instead of focusing your time to actively improve, you prefer to fall into your old habits and comfort zone and to give excuses for them.

I made this compilation of your drawings years ago to illustrate this same point to you: When you try to draw something and you can't, you usually turn the drawing into a retarded doodle, and every time we called you for these ugly habits, you gave "muh style" justifications and excuses, the most absurd of them being that you couldn't draw naked males because you were so disgusted by the male form that the experience of drawing them was almost traumatic or something.

>The short version of what I want to say is: people who improve "overnight" work a lot, and they focus their efforts on practicing what they want to be able to do, you on the other hand, you also work a lot, but you draw what you already know hoping you learn something new almost by accident.
It's not talent, it's studying smart. They see their mistakes as mistakes, you see your mistakes as style.

Again, you are clearly getting better little by little, you eventually got those figures right by drawing a fuck ton of stone abominations... but imagine how much faster it would have been if you made the effort to get them right from the start.

disgusting, a waste of paint. you do a disservice to yourself by insisting in these kid level abstract doodles. And they are no more than that. They are random lines you do when you are not entirely sure on what you want to draw, and you force yourself to draw spastic twists and turns to get enjoyment of drawing something, to get the enjoyment of the lines you kinda want to draw and not the lines you should draw in order to make a decent drawing, and that's what you get: a drawing that was fun to make, but nothing more than that. Visually it's actually worse than a drawing by a beginner who is really trying hard to polish his stuff.

I have said this to you before, and I am repeating myself not because I think you are going to listen, I know you are not going to, because you are an idiot. I am repeating myself because I hate these fucking shitty doodles so much, and I like your normal pencil drawings enough.

Now if you could just look at your live model studies, look at your previous studies and your recent ones, you have a tendency to doodle when you don't know what the fuck you are doing. Of course you will want to protest this claim. You used to try and say it's your style, it's all intentional, but why then, as you got better at these, you stoped integrating the doodles into your studies? You were suddenly tired of doing them? You wanted a break from exausting carefree doodling and decided to have some fun working on getting the anatomy and likeness of the models?
I think the most offensivelly retarded was your excuse to not draw men correctly. Do you remember what you said? It was something along the lines of "I find the male figure so disgusting I can't draw male models, I have to make abstractions of them". Yeah right. And what are all those abstractions on female studies?
