Pretty much true. Assuming that you are looking at actually good anime artists, there is only one area where anime holds you back, and that is faces. Rendering can also be more stylized than usual but that differs from artist to artist. Stuff like anatomy, clothing folds, rendering can all be learnt from studying (GOOD) anime artists. Krenz and Alphonse/WhiteDatura are examples
