and here's a painting from a few years ago and some info:

He's a wannabe samurai traveling through Central America exorcising/befriending ghosts in rural Mexican villages and later through the jungles of Guatemala to confront Mayan gods. He fights with power lent to him by his rooster spirit guide (as seen on his haori)

Also fun fact: his mom made his clothes for his birthday, the flames and rooster designs came afterwards since that's where his spirit guide hides.
I know it probably sounds lame but I want one of the central themes of his story to basically be, "fake it till you make it" or unironically "the power of believing" since in-lore legends/gods/ghosts/etc. are born when people actually believe in them and tell their stories to others, kind of like a more fantastical version of religion today.

This. There's no point in denying yourself some good clean fun just because you're afraid of what others might think - in fact I think THAT mentality is more reminiscent of adolescence and immaturity. Why stop yourself from getting out of your comfort zone and having a good time just because some person who probably isn't very happy to begin with might make fun of you? It'll just stunt your own growth and deny yourself the joy you deserve.
Anyways I'm rambling now but I just love having any excuse to shill the white-pill
