I am pretty new to drawing still, I read betty edwards all the way through and did a few exercises and that's it. I have experience doodling really stupid shit but I never really tried to actually get good at real art.

This is a failure I did of trying to try a figure from reference, I think the got to proportion right but I don't understand how to draw all the muscles, shading, shadows, etc in-between. Everything gets all muddy and I can't figure out the proportion between abstract objects like shadows and other dark spots.

I ended up giving up.

Not sure what I should be studying right now, I got pretty frustrated. I wonder if I am trying to do stuff that is way beyond my level.
