How come every other thread in here is just WAAAHHHH WHY CAN'T MY PENCIL MAGICALLY GET ME A CAREER LOLNMGICRABPYW. You faggots are the fucking worst. I used to learn from this fucking place. Now it's just people so caught up in memes and being sad. Fuck. This shit is supposed to be fun and our passion and the thing we wanna do with our lives. But instead IC just calls everyone a crab and bitches about not making it. I'm never coming back here again. Here's my advice:

1. Draw what you like. If you can't draw what you like, learn how. Don't waste time learning what you think you SHOULD draw. If you wanna draw sentient airplanes with hentai tentacle dicks, learn how to draw airplanes and dicks.

2. NEVER undersell yourself on commissions. ONLY take work in your style that you can use in your portfolio. There's no point in taking a shitty commission that's nothing but a cheap gig that has nothing to do with your style. Individual clients are shitty as fuck. Get good at your style and contact companies and businesses directly that you think your style fits. It will save you YEARS of frustration with "clients" (y'all know what I mean by "clients").

3. If you are suffering from mental health problems that are preventing you from drawing (most of us in here, myself included) GET OFF OF SOCIAL MEDIA. All you are going to do is compare yourself to other artists and hate yourself because you associate skill with likes/follows. You can't pay your light bill with clout. Look up free and low cost mental health services in your area and seek help.
