Listen anon. American comics were never popular. Imported Manga outselling American comics is nothing new, ever since I've been alive the norm was caring about Japanese Anime, wanting to learn to draw because of Japanese Anime, reading Japanese Manga 'cuz that's the source material for Anime, maybe being curious about Comics/Animation produced this side of the Pacific. I was born in the 90's so maybe it was diferent in the 70's or 80's but the norm (since the 90's at least) for us creative types is been getting into Japanese Comics/Animation and maybe, just maybe, getting into Western stuff as well, literally nobody in any drawing class that I had growing up that were exclusively into western stuff but there were a lot exclusively into Jap stuff.

You are essentially a Trans-Racial person if you want to be a comic artist and are not Japanese (or Asia, since some Korean and Chinese Anime/Manga style franchises are popular too) drawing is become essentially an Mongoloid trait. A westoid learning to draw regardless of style, you are all suffering fucking Ethnic-Disphoria, everyfuckingbody knows it's Asians that draw shit not you. You have all these people on Twitter and NG and shit drawing grayscale or with japanese onomatopeia, taking Japanese classes, eating ramen, going to Japan town to buy groceries etc... You guys are bunch of Racial Troons and thus end up doing Asian LARPing, learning to draw is just part of it.

The little bit of coppium I can give you; Despite selling like shit, the average artist westoid out earns their Japanese counterparts anyways; hell, other Asians outearn them as well because Japan is actually the worst place in the world for artists to be. The world is not without a sense on Irony I guess.
