At what point can someone start working with Loomis and Hampton's figure drawing books and get the most off them? Are they fine for a beginner?

I'm not interested in anything else right now, I want to get better at drawing human characters

60 is a little manageable.
I'd honestly just take the two or so hours I could put into drawing and make sure I spent it well. You have an advantage here. You can do art with a well-rested mind that isn't worried about how it's going to make rent.
