So, what the hell is it exactly, and is it any good? The people who practice it don't seem to agree with each other; they all seem to be doing some variation. Why is this?

I've been staring at a worksheet that is supposed to explain the Reilly method for over an hour and I don't understand how this is supposed to be effective.

It seems like half the "flows" arbitrarily switch depending on the pose and that there is no way to show the direction of the limbs.

Is this actually an effective way to do figure drawing from imagination or is this a really overly complicated way to do a gesture drawing?
