>What does /ic/ think about this?
It's a dog. In perfect profile. There isn't really anything 'wrong' with it, besides the fact that because its in perfect profile it looks flat, and is thus easier to draw than a dog at an angle.

How do I practice this stuff without just doing it wrong and reinforcing bad habits like symbol drawing? I've tried some of the drills from Keys, but all I get is scribbles. No lines, no forms, no shapes no symbols, no discernible representation, just scribbles. What did I do wrong?

I totally understand the concept of drawing shapes that make up things rather than the things themselves but I can't find a way to drill actually DOING that into my head.

>why the fuck does he post shit that took him like 5 seconds to draw?
I wish, more along the lines of 30 minutes from blank canvas to the first ( >>1699791 ). But thats beside the point. I could spend hours on one of those faces, and it would still suffer from what I am trying to improve on, perspective and shape.

See this picture? That was a couple hours of shading. I thought I was totally hot shit because I did that. Then a kind /ic/er pointed out to me that I couldn't into shape or perspective to save my own ass. So now I'm trying to improve.

Thats why I post ugly shit like those non-circuler circles, in the hopes that someone can give me some pointers so that in the future my stuff will be less ugly.
