Depends on what you mean by
>Make good money off of art

The mistake is assuming people like Sakimichan, who pull somewhere between 100k-500kish a year, are making big money. They're not, and their livelihood is at the mercy of platforms who could end it all in an instant.

If you want to see what making money off of art REALLY looks like, don't look at the gold miners like Sakimichan or cartoon creators, take a look at the people selling shovels.

For example,
>Adobe is worth 125 Billion dollars right now.
>Autodesk, maker of 3D program Maya, is worth 35 Billion dollars.
>Wacom is worth 1.8 Billion dollars
>Patreon as of 2017 just got another round of funding for 450 million dollars
>Media publisher Disney is worth 130 Billion
>Media publisher Valve is worth 2-4 Billion
>Media publisher Turner Broadcasting, which among other things owns cartoon network and adult swim, is owned by Time Warner, which is worth 73 Billion.

If you wanna make art, yes there's a little niche in which you probably can make a little money, probably, and that money could be enough to buy a nice house, and maybe a nice car. If that's all you want, that's fine.

But if you wanna make money, and I mean GOOD money, not scraps, sell the tools or dream for others to do it. Your "Living the dream" tax will ultimately far exceed the value of any individual attempt to live it yourself.

Your question is really a subquestion of
>How do I faithfully replicate an artists style?

Which has several critical elements.

Start by making surface level observations. For, your case, Greg Capullo, just at a glance, let's look for surface level elements we'd probably want to copy:

>Heavy use of value and occlusion shadow, especially on faces and around eyes, for dramatic effect
>Highly textured clothing, muscles, and foreground elements
>Heroic bodytypes
>Limitied colorspace to emphasize important elements in a composition, like red against green/purple/black.

So now that we have some initial ideas and themes that we'd have to replicate, zoom the fuck in and lets look at how he does stuff:

>All silhouettes, without exception, are outlined with a thin black outline, but MUCH less thick than you may think.
>The curtain flows of the cape are made with swift, long lines emanating from the cloak center and in the direction of cloak motion, later shaded in between to imply form: there's basically only one reversed U-shape, on the cloak's right shoulder.
>Only red cloth has transitional lighting. Everything else is solidly colored and is one of a very deep shadow color, a base color, or a rim light. You can see this in the brown fringe, on his skin, on the skeletons, and basically everwhere.
>The figure and foreground elements, besides sword drippings, are completely separated, and can be treated as separate layers.
>Perspective is largely traditional here, with eye level around the figure's kneecaps.
>The background thorns, based on their flatness on the left side, do not appear to have been made with perspective in mind, and look like they had shade added after the fact to add some dimensionality.

This process of
>Look at the high level, make observations, then look at the details of
>>perspective
>>linework
>>coloring
>>texturing
>to see what they imply about the artist's approach to drawing

generalizes to reverse engineering any artist's style.

I'm taking a class on environment design in two months. I've never taken classes before.

How do you best maximize your gains when taking an art class with an instructor?

Different anon, but you've misunderstood the "making it" part of "Making it".

Many people don't mean it in a "I've existentially become a more whole person" sense. These people instead mean it in the literal
>"There is a thing I wish to make" sense,
So it's more like more like
>"Making a coffee table"
then
>"making something of yourself".

>neither that nor furry porn is their business

>t. very minor celebrity who's not revealing who he is.

You're not wrong, but you don't get a vote. You'll find that people with grudges will do whatever they can to act on them.

There's a reason all celebrities and major Youtubers seem a little crazy, and it's because they've been burned so many times dealing with people posting their personal info, harassing their employers, and sending death threats to your family (youtubers have a pretty thick skin for this, but weirdos will involve your parents and siblings and it'll really fuck with them, which will fuck with you).

People are fucking weird and you kinda just have to deal with it. If you can't handle your boss ultimately knowing what your favorite kind of porn was 30 years ago, don't start.
