Dunno how important it is, but it helps me to draw more confidently
I usually draw lines, ovals, spheres and basic shapes (boxes, cylinders and cones mostly) in perspective.
I've also drawn organic shapes with wrapping lines on them (I also apply basic shading to the shapes using the wrapping lines) lately, which helps me get in the mindset of thinking 3D.
Warmups can last anywhere between 5 to 45 minutes
