Thumbnail looks great, I like the frosty highlights.
For the hair I'd suggest making the tips neater and maybe adding more strokes coming the roots like so, also maybe try pulling his eyes a tad closer together and evening out their size, maybe also moving the ear a bit closer like in pic related
