Not what I'm saying at all. Also the 10 drawings posted in this thread is hardly stylization, more like carbon copy. But that is another tangent.


Let me see if I can spell it out for you and others here...

You draw WHITE girls in stereotypical Asian fashion i.e Sailor seifuku

Bad enough that:
1) composition not interesting (usually on a white background)
2) does not convey a story
3) lacks style (ironic for the stylization thread, right?)
4) and worst of all you as an American or from another country completely throw away your own heritage, pretending you are drawing Japanese characters when in fact they are white, succumbing to generic drawings when you have a full array of new fresh ideas using your own culture using the anime style

Korean artists draw roots from their culture, so do Taiwanese and Chinese.

Look at Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance or Free! or hanayamata and tell me if they look asian. Hell in Seirei Tsukai the only Japanese is the MC and even he doesn't look asian just his name is Japanese.
