Generally, 4-komas use to have a title above each stripe; you can add that (or just part 1, part 2). And I highly recommend you make your comic colored; it's simple and can attract more readers. You can paint the speech bubbles to distinguish one speech from another.

Another suggestion is to try making a horizontal stripe instead of a vertical one.
