Last of my colored pencil crap (for now)
I've got lots of paint,I was doing Warhammer shit and am transitioning to traditional art (because finding Warhammer games is functionally identical to gay casual sex and I'm tired of trying.)
I got to gouache, oil, and acrylic. I got some canvas boards and lots of watercolor paper.
What do you recommend I start with? I've been doing a lot of pencil and pen shit, bit other than space marines and coomer minis I haven't painted shit.

Yeah the hair came out better because it was easier. I'm having more trouble figuring out how to shade other shit. I'm really struggling with chins and cheekbones.
What I have noticed is that my drawings do get incrementally better every few days or so.

Just draw better than the last one. I'm not trying to be pro. In fact I'm doing these at work so I'm already getting paid to draw, lol. Perks of an otherwise boring job.
I knocked out this today in under three hours in two sessions. What do you think? Better? At least a little? I do.

It's from imagination with no reference. Do you think I should try photos? Actually, I'm going to try that tomorrow regardless of you reply. I personally find drawing a photo philosophically silly, bit if it will improve my skill I'll try it.
In case it's not clear, above was a single mechanical pencil and this is pencil sketch traced with heeel pen and watercolor pencil.

I've watched plenty of videos and I've never heard this specific phrase. I don't mean to be a dick, but you sound like you don't know as much as you think you do. Prove me wrong and give practical advice? You could (pyw) as an example!
