Well, you should see any improvement, periodically.
If you're actively drawing, try comparing your work every 3 months.

Depends on what you're struggling with.
If you're a total newbie, you will see overall improvement pretty fast.
But it also depends on what your goal is.
What kind of artistry level you want to reach like cartoony, semi-realitstic etc.
The secret to mastery is just a lot of trial and error.
And if you're having fun while doing it, it's even better.
