For me, it's been easier to do project based learning rather than straight grinding.
>pick something that you want to do
>find a handful of things you want to practice that you can work on while doing the thing you want to do (e.g., perspective, anatomy, rendering, etc.)
>Actively work on learning those things as you apply them to your project
>Set a reasonable deadline to complete the project and move on
Picrel is a project I just finished. I wanted to work on shape simplification, a limited color palette and blending Posca markers and I had seen this nostalgic ad that I wanted to recreate. Took about a week and a half, but there were several planning steps and so forth that aren't pictured.

The health burner has been shut off and that's probably for the best.

Here's a study I did of a still from a 1987 Cherry Coke commercial using Posca markers. The objective was to work on shape design and a limited color palette. There was a good bit of fuck-around-and-find-out with the Poscas, but I think it turned out better than I thought it would given some of the limitations.

I like this! I've been moving to more project based practicing, and I think this will come in quite handy.
